1.  Mini Musicals - Ages 6-8
(Thursdays at 4:30 - 5:30pm) Taught by Melodie Bredo


No Prerequisite.

The "Mini Musicals" class is a lively introduction to the world of musical theater for ages 6 to 8. This fun-filled program offers a playful overview of essential disciplines, including acting, singing, and dancing. Young performers explore character creation, basic choreography, and vocal exercises through engaging games and activities. With an emphasis on creativity and enjoyment, the class helps children build confidence, develop stage presence, and experience the joy of bringing stories to life on stage.


2.  PlayMakers: Kids' Drama Adventure - Ages 8-12
No Prerequisite. 
(Tuesdays at 5:40 - 6:40pm) Taught by Melissa Lamoureaux 


The drama class offers a dynamic introduction to the world of theater, focusing on core acting skills such as voice, movement, and character development. Alongside these fundamentals, the class includes specialty modules where students explore the art of accents, puppetry sessions, comedy, stage combat and more. This comprehensive approach ensures a well-rounded and engaging experience for every budding performer.

 

3.  Jazz and Tap Fusion - Ages 8-18
No Prerequisite.

(Tuesdays at 5:40 - 6:40pm) Taught by Melodie Bredo  

The "Jazz & Tap Fusion" dance class combines the energetic rhythms of jazz with the rhythmic precision of tap, two vital styles in musical theater. Young dancers learn the fundamentals of Jazz, which offers dynamic movement and versatility, enhancing expressive storytelling and character portrayal. Tap dance adds a percussive element that complements musical accompaniment, emphasizing timing and rhythm. Together, these styles provide a comprehensive skill set for musical theater, enabling dancers to perform with flair, precision, and a strong connection to the music, essential for captivating stage performances.  With fun, engaging choreography and upbeat music, the class helps build coordination, confidence, and a love for dance in a supportive and spirited environment.


4.  Spotlight Teens: Drama Dynamics - Ages 13-18  
No Prerequisite.
(Tuesdays at 7:oo - 8:00pm) Taught by Melissa Lamoureaux  


Cornerstone's teen drama class provides a dynamic blend of essential acting skills and exciting specialty modules to engage young performers. Students start with a strong foundation in voice, movement, and character development. From there, they dive into specialized areas including accents to enrich their character portrayals, sketch comedy for crafting humorous and inventive scenes, and comedy to refine timing and delivery. The improv module further enhances their ability to think quickly and perform spontaneously, ensuring a well-rounded and thrilling experience that fosters both growth and enjoyment in the craft of acting.
 

5.  SoundScape: Voice and Music Exploration - Ages 8-18
No Prerequisite. 
(Tuesdays at 7:00 - 8:00pm) Taught by Jeannette Manser  


The "SoundScape" voice class offers an engaging and energetic approach to vocal training. Students explore fundamental techniques to build a strong vocal foundation, while also delving into vocal development to enhance range and tone. The class introduces the basics of harmonies, music theory, and sight reading, providing a comprehensive toolkit for budding singers. With a focus on active participation and fun, this class helps students grow their musical skills and confidence in a lively, supportive environment.


6.  Triple Threat Theater:  Sing! Dance! Act! - Ages 8-18
(Tuesdays at 5:40 - 6:40pm) Taught by Jeannette Manser  


PREREQUISITES:  Must have completed a Voice Class, Drama Class, and Dance Class OR been a cast member in a minimum of 4 Cornerstone Main Stage Productions.

The "Triple Threat Theater" class offers a dynamic and immersive experience for aspiring performers looking to enhance their skills in drama, voice, and dance. Students engage in exciting drama exercises to develop their acting chops, vocal training sessions to refine their singing technique, and energetic dance routines to boost their movement and stage presence. This all-in-one class fosters versatility and confidence, allowing participants to shine as multi-talented performers.
