WHY SPECIALTY CLASSES?
Specialty Classes give students the chance to go deeper, try something new, and build skills beyond our core theatre classes. Each specialty class focuses on a particular style, show, or theatrical skill. They’re hands-on, high-energy opportunities to learn from experienced instructors, stretch creatively, and add new tools to your musical theatre toolkit—whether with a workshop or the commitment of a full-year class.

MAKEUP WORSKHOP with Katelyn Barbaro
Transform the Actor; Tell the Story
Ages 10 - 18

Tuesdays  6:30 - 7:30
Six Week Workshop (Sept 8 - Oct 12)

Discover what happens at the makeup table before the curtain goes up! In this fast-paced, hands-on class, students will step into the role of a theatrical makeup crew member, learning how makeup helps transform actors, communicate character, and tell the story onstage.

Students will work with real theatrical makeup as they learn basic stage makeup, aging, character transformation, bruises and wounds, facial hair, and specialty effects. Along the way, they'll learn the skills a real makeup crew needs—setting up a makeup station, working safely on other actors, following makeup designs, maintaining continuity from performance to performance, and getting a cast ready on time.   This six week class is all about learning by doing.  Come ready to create, transform, and discover what it takes to help bring a show to life—one face at a time!

Build the Foundation Behind Great Dance.

Tuesdays 6:30 - 7:30

Ages 12-18

Younger students admitted if they have previously taken "Triple Threat" class OR
If they have been in 5 Cornerstone Productions
PREREQUESITE: 12 years old and has been in a Cornerstone MainStage Production;  or younger if you have been in 5 Cornerstone Productions (email cornerstonereddeer@gmail.com)

Designed for experienced students who are ready to grow as performers, this year-long class develops the three essential skills of musical theatre: acting, singing, and dance. Students will spend 10 weeks concentrating on each discipline while working with scenes, songs, and choreography from a Broadway musical (Matilda Jr.). Instead of casting one student in each role, scenes are shared and rotated so every student has the opportunity to explore featured characters, receive coaching, and strengthen their performance skills. This class is about learning, experimenting, and growing—not preparing a full musical. By the end of the year, students will be more confident, more versatile, and better equipped for auditions and future productions.






THE MYTH, THE MUSICAL (based on HadesTown)  with McKenna Swensrude; Ashley Miller; Anne McLaren

Thursdays:  7:30 - 8:30

Ages 13-18 - 

PREREQUESITE:  13 years old and has been in a Cornerstone MainStage Productions.  No availability  for younger students.

Instead of casting one student in each role, scenes are shared and rotated so every student has the opportunity to explore featured characters, receive coaching, and strengthen their performance skills.
This class is about learning, experimenting, and growing—not preparing a full musical. By the end of the year, students will be more confident, more versatile, and better equipped for auditions and future productions.
